Mark Laursen MS, ATC

Mark Laursen is the Residency and Fellowship Director for the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education. Before joining the CAATE, Mark was Boston University’s Director of Athletic Training Services and was a Clinical Associate Professor of Athletic Training at BU’s College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College. Mark graduated with his undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University in 1983 and then from Canisius College with his Master’s degree in 1986. Over the years, Mark has mentored many athletic trainers and received several awards. Most notably the EATA’s Pinky Newell Address 2021, Bridgewater College’s Presidential Medal for Leadership and Service, NATA Tim Kerin Award for Excellence, CAATE Pete Keohneke Award for Leadership, College Athletic Trainers Society’s Quality of Life Award and AT Still University-Mesa, Arizona Doctorate of Humane Letters. Mark has contributed to many publications, is a sought-after speaker, and volunteers as an athletic trainer at sporting events.
