  • 1. Contrast commonly used terminology within healthcare informatics.
  • 2. Differentiate between the types of electronic records systems, assessing how new clinicians would gain practice with each of these systems.
  • 3. Explain the stages on the data-wisdom continuum and relate the steps of that continuum to strategies used to engage with health information data.
  • 4. Use a run chart and its associated rules to assess available health information.

  • 1. Identify at least three potential indicators of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, eating concerns and attention deficit disorders.
  • 2. Identify potential evidence-based educational training resources to train ATs in preparing for managing athletes who experience mental health concerns and/or suicidal ideation.
  • 3. Acquire knowledge about how to collect relevant information regarding mental health concerns and how to effectively communicate this information with other healthcare professionals or members of the sports medicine team.
  • 4. List relevant factors to analyze in creating policies and procedures related to mental health concerns, including routine referrals, mental health crises, and eating disorders.
