Dr. Beth Neil serves as Program Director for both the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) and Doctor of Athletic Training (DAT) programs within the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Temple University’s Barnett College of Public Health in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She teaches across both programs as well as supplementing some undergraduate classes. She earned her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Athletic Training Education from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Clinically, Dr. Neil has provided athletic training services with the Philadelphia Union Academy, Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX, and Union Health Center for Sports Medicine in Terre Haute, IN. Her scholarly and teaching interests focus on simulation-based education, standardized patient (SP) encounters, healthcare legislation, and mental health within athletic training education.
Dr. Neil is passionate about preparing future athletic trainers to deliver patient-centered, evidence-informed care. She has delivered numerous presentations at the state, district, national, and international levels and continues to serve the profession through leadership and mentorship, including her role on the Association for Athletic Training Education (AATE) Board of Directors.
